About the Role

Senior Subject Matter Expert on Automotive Infotainment System or any ECU, who is typically responsible for specifying and designing security measures to protect the automotive ECUs from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

Your Team

Lead Security Architect reporting to a Director or Sr. Director in Architecture team.

What You Will Do

• Provide technical leadership, Solution architecture and guidance in the area of Cyber Security for Middleware, stacks, hardware abstractions, drivers and communication logics for Automotive Digital cockpit and similar systems.
• Collaborate with Global teams, both OEs (Harman Customers) and Internal Customer Program teams to realize the right technical solution, for a given set of customer requirements. And, at the same time not dilute re-usability/common-platform criteria.
• Lend technical expertise in engaging OEs (Harman Customers) offer the right solution; determine/decide the right architecture and approach for the above mentioned areas. Support the team architecturally and design wise, where necessary to mentor and support the team in delivering critical deliverables
  • Associated basic infrastructure components – operating system (Linux / Android)
  • Low level software that deals with the fundamental Hardware-Software Interface
  • Interactions with the Hardware and systems design domains to understand plan and design the requisite infrastructure.
• Contribute hands-on development in the above areas, for all activities viz., Architecture conceptualization, Design and Development for reusable software
• Be a core member of Software Engineering process initiatives like ASPICE
• Proactively identify and feed into the respective stakeholder any issues that need attention from the business.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geographically separate/virtual teams across Harman’s R&D centres.

What You Need

• Mandatory - Practical working knowledge and able to perform Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) as per UNECE WP.29 R155 and as per standard ISO 21434 for Automotive ECUs
• Mandatory - Involved in RFQ phase and excellent in Cyber Security Requirements understanding.
• Mandatory - Able to create and perform cybersecurity system and technical requirements derived from TARA.
• Mandatory - Able to perform mapping between work products defined in R155 and Cyber security work packages based on TARA goals
• Mandatory - Developing security architectures for automotive ECUs that align with industry best practices and standards.
• Mandatory - Able to collaborate with the development teams to implement security measures in the ECU software and hardware components.
• Mandatory - Ensuring compliance with relevant automotive cybersecurity standards and regulations (e.g., ISO/SAE 21434).
• Mandatory - Keeping abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, technologies, and industry developments to adapt and enhance security practices accordingly.
• Mandatory - Experience in Automotive industry – great if it’s Infotainment System IVI.
• Mandatory- High Level Knowledge on any system like linux or Android or Qnx

What is Nice to Have

• Good to have – Hands-on on some tools like ALM, JIRA, Confluence, DOORs, EA etc
• Good to have – Has experience in handling SOCs vendors and other 3rd party vendors- additionally, experience in handling TEE vendors
• Good to have – Familiarity/experience with embedded automotive cyber security management & secure development life cycle
• Good to have – High Level understanding of “Programming Model” of cryptography hardware, random number generators, key hashing, key wrapping, and certificate like X509
• Good to have – Experience on application security, network security, and secure communication
• Good to have – Deep Understanding  of using cryptography, secure key storage, key exchange methods, and trusted platform architectures
• Good to have – Complete understanding of secure boot, secure kernel on any SoCs

What Makes You Eligible

• B-Tech/BE/MS/M Tech with 16 years or more  having at-least 5 years of experience in embedded automotive system.

• Programming languages – C/C++, Java

• Be willing to travel, domestic OR international
• Be willing to work in an office, in Bangalore or Pune.

• Be willing to submit a background screen or drug test.
• Can-do attitude with unwavering sense of timeliness
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Self-motivated, results-driven individual and passionate about work. 
• Excellent communication skills and problem solving skill
