As an Staff Application Security Engineer at kevin., you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our organization's applications, products, and platforms are designed and built with best-in-class security practices. You will be instrumental in defining the security architecture, participating in the product development lifecycle, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed security principles at every stage. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the security posture of our products and make a significant impact on our technological direction.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Security Architecture: Define and maintain the organization's security architecture, ensuring it aligns with industry best practices and standards.
  • Product Development: Actively participate in the product development lifecycle to integrate security principles into product design and software development processes.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside staff and principal engineers to define secure technical solution designs, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes security.
  • Threat Identification: Assist product teams in identifying potential threats and provide expert guidance on mitigation strategies.
  • Mentorship: Serve as a mentor to engineers across the organization, promoting a culture of security awareness and best practices.
  • Security Projects: Drive and support various security projects, from conception through implementation, ensuring they meet the strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage closely with Product and Technology management stakeholders to define and manage the security roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals.

What you need to be successful:

  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years in Application Security, Network Security, Cloud Security, or a related field.
  • Solution Design: Proven track record in designing secure and resilient solutions, with a deep understanding of security architecture.
  • Cloud Security: Extensive experience in securing cloud infrastructure and architecture, with familiarity in cloud services and platforms.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of architecture and resilience patterns, with hands-on development experience in any programming or scripting language.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships and effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Leadership: Experience in leadership roles, whether through direct people management or lateral leadership, is highly desirable.
  • Payments domain: (Nice to Have) Experience in PCI-DSS compliance or other security standards relevant to the payments industry is highly valued.
