Purpose Statement

• To apply analytical and cyber security processes to support the Cyber Security team to safeguard the organisation's digital assets, security monitoring systems, and data from security threats; maintain and improve resilient cyber security in the face of evolving threats and vulnerabilities; and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information.
• To identify, monitor, report on, and respond to information security events.

Qualifications (Minimum)

• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology - Computer Science
• Certification in Network Security (e.g. Fortinet NSE4, CCNA, Security) or Information Security

Experience and Knowledge

Minimum:

2-4 years' experience in a hands-on IT role that can include:

• Information Security; and/or
• Cyber Security: System architecture, tools, Technical Security Controls (e.g., Firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, patch management, encryption, audit trails, etc.), logical access, common Network protocols, Threat Intelligence, Incident Response/Management processes (proactive detection, mitigation, and resolution of advanced cyber-attacks and threats/malware), administration and support; and/or
• Software Development

Ideal:

• Working in a fast-paced environment as part of a high-performing team (including standby duties)
• Agile and DevOps models
• Financial Services/Banking environment
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, SQL, SharePoint, various workstation operating systems (Microsoft Windows server and Red Hat preferred), etc.
• Studying towards the Security+ or SSCP certification
