We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Specialist, Assistance, to join our outstanding team of security professionals based in our 24/7 Regional Security Centre in Dubai, UAE.

 

As a Security Specialist, Assistance you will take up a fast-paced role providing and supporting the delivery of professional and effective security assistance services for clients of International SOS by addressing the security threats and risk challenges in Mashreq & Iran, East & Southern Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality security risk assessments, advice, and the coordination of security assistance on a profile and itinerary-specific basis to travelers, international assignees, domestic nationals, and client risk managers.
  • Receive and assess all security related calls and ascertain the assistance requirements of Intl. SOS clients.
  • Give security advice to callers, employers, employees and organize appropriate security assistance accordingly.
  • Contribute to operational readiness by carrying out tasking to maintain and develop the security provider network and internal Concepts of Operations.
  • Coordinate and oversee responses to security Requests for Assistance (RFAs), including the production of Plans of Action (POA) for specific client requirements.

 

Required Work Experience:

  • Proven experience in security intelligence or related field: military, government, NGO, journalism; relevant academic studies.
  • Independent travel experience to multiple countries including more challenging risk environments.
  • Risk and Crisis management.
  • Experience in writing to senior management and decision makers.
  • International work experience, including in more challenging risk environments.
  • Experience of working in a customer/client focused role.

 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of the political and security landscape within Mashreq & Iran, East & Southern Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to explain complex situations to non-expert audiences in English.
  • Ability to critically analyze multiple streams of information under time pressure.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of risk assessments.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite and other applications.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement of degree level (or relevant professional taring) in a field related to security, risk management, international politics or international relations.

 

Languages:

  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Advanced professional proficiency in Arabic, Urdu, Farsi, Russian, Swahili or another regional language preferred.

 

Additional Information:

  • Some travel may be required, sometimes at short notice.
  • Shift work based on a rotating roster.
  • No night shifts.
