The HR Compliance Specialist is responsible for the management and administration of all human resources compliance related programs, including, but not limited to HR policies and procedures, external reporting, training, and state and federal legislative adherence. The role will ensure fair and consistent application of HR policies and procedures by delivering exceptional resources and tools to educate staff, streamline, and increase compliance with HR policies and procedures across the organization. The HR Compliance Specialist will serve as the expert on all compliance-related matters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with NTT GDC Americas and/or NTT Ltd. HR, Legal and/or outside counsel to design, implement and communicate policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for implementing, administering, and/or evaluating policies and programs as they pertain to compliance, such as: background check and drug screen programs and policies, E-Verify program, and policies, federal and state required compliance trainings and annual handbook reviews.

  • Manage responses to internal and external reporting requests, audits, and assessments, including state and federal reporting requirements: EEO-1, BLS and DOL reporting inquiries.

  • Provide guidance to Talent Acquisition and Human Resources Business Partners on compliance related matters.

  • Provide consultative advice regarding the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures

  • Continuously evaluate HR compliance, processes, and policies for improvements, proactively developing and implementing practical solutions.

  • Use a data-driven approach, leveraging technology and available resources, to ensure efficiency and simplification.

  • Conduct policy reviews as part of the M&A integration processes, harmonizing policies and processes where appropriate, and partnering on communication, training, and change management initiatives with internal stakeholders.

  • Stay abreast of Federal, State, and Local employment laws and regulations, ensuring that all Federal, State and Local required postings are available to employees.

  • Develop training programs related to HR policy, procedures, and compliance initiatives, facilitating training when necessary.

  • Ensure compliance with required training and dissemination/acknowledgement of required policies.

  • Manage compliance services vendors, including required communication, coordination and review of proposals, changes to programs or contracts, and evaluation of services performed, escalating issues to leadership when necessary.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • General understanding of HR Operations, including but not limited to benefits, compensation, payroll, HRIS and compliance.

  • High level understanding of HR processes.

  • Developing ability to think critically, problem solve, and take an analytical approach to work with close attention to detail.

  • Ability to remain open-minded and self-confident with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Growing knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations for each jurisdiction where employees work and reside.

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with peer leaders and individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to be highly confidential.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (O365), including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

  • Able to be collaborative in a team environment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field or equivalent education and/or work experience.

  • Requires at least 4 years of experience in Human Resources with a strong background in policy and process development and Human Resources Compliance programs 

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, with practical experience in companies with multi-state presence

  • Understanding of international laws and regulations is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Remain stationary for long periods of time

  • Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment

  • Perform work during US business hours and time zones

WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Perform work from a remote location with stable internet connection

  • Must satisfactorily pass company-required background check process

This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.


NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $ 101,000 - $ 113,000.


All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
