Job Description

Freshworks is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT SoX Compliance Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the adherence of our IT systems and processes to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SoX) requirements. As a key member of our compliance team, you will contribute to maintaining a secure and reliable environment for our SaaS solutions.

Responsibilities:

  1. SoX Compliance Oversight
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of IT systems and processes with Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.
    • Conduct regular assessments and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.
  2. Risk Management:
    • Identify and assess potential risks related to IT systems, data integrity, and financial reporting.
    • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  3. Policy Development:
    • Contribute to the development and enhancement of IT policies and procedures to align with SoX compliance requirements.
    • Ensure that all IT processes are documented and updated as necessary.
  4. Audit and Reporting:
    • Plan and execute IT audits, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions.
    • Prepare and present reports to management and external auditors.
  5. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with IT teams to implement and monitor internal controls.
    • Provide guidance on best practices for SoX compliance within the IT environment.
  6. Training and Awareness:
    • Conduct training sessions for IT and other relevant teams to enhance awareness of SoX compliance requirements.
    • Stay informed about changes in regulations and industry best practices.
  7. Incident Response:
    • Assist in developing and implementing incident response plans related to SoX compliance.
    • Participate in investigations of potential compliance breaches.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT compliance, internal audit, or a related role.
  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.
  • Familiarity with SaaS environments and related technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles.
  • Proficiency in using auditing tools and technologies.

 

Additional Information


● Certifications in Program management (PMP, Scrum Master, etc)
● Industry certifications in compliance or security are a plus
● Knowledge of, or experience working with, Cloud technologies/environments
● Experience with SaaS organizations and products
