POSITION OVERVIEW

Stream Data Centers is seeking a highly experienced Compliance Director to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the company's compliance programs, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations, and promoting a culture of ethical conduct within the organization.

You will work closely with various departments across the company to assess compliance risks, develop policies and procedures, and conduct audits and investigations. Additionally, you will provide guidance and training to employees on compliance matters and will serve as a resource for any compliance-related questions or concerns.

The ideal candidate for this role is a detail-oriented professional with extensive knowledge of compliance best practices and a strong understanding of the data center industry. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams are also essential.

Preferred in the following local markets: Chicago, Colorado, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Phoenix. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance program to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations as well as industry and customer requirements
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may affect the organization and update compliance policies and procedures as needed
  • Proactively conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and develop strategies to mitigate risk
  • Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues, proactively ensuring proper documentation and reporting
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on relevant laws, regulations, customer requirements and company policies
  • Collaborate with department leaders to introduce and implement compliance initiatives and improvements
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and trends in compliance
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements and cyber/data privacy and security regulations and standards, such as GDPR, CCPA/CRPA, ISO 27001, SOC, and NIST 800 53/82
  • Stay informed about emerging compliance issues and recommend appropriate actions

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in law, business, or a related field; Juris Doctor (JD) degree is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in compliance, preferably within the data center or technology industry
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, CRPA, and data center, cyber security and information technology industry standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and develop effective compliance strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Experience leading and conducting compliance audits and investigations
  • Ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory requirements and communicate them in a clear and concise manner
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Professional certifications in compliance, such as Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), are strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel occasionally to different data center locations as needed

The pay range for this role is between $160,000 - $200,000 (base). Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related reasons. Stream Data Centers offers annual bonus, benefits, flexible time off (vacation), 401k and a variety of other perks and benefits.
