The Opportunity:

Live Nation is looking for a collaborator to work as part of the Global Security team. You will be part of a high performing global team committed to overseeing, coordinating, and assessing Security, Crowd Safety Management and Emergency Management efforts across Australia and New Zealand.

As this role is part of our Global Security team, the location for this role is flexible and we welcome candidates based anywhere in Australia.

As the Director - Security Operations, you will be responsible for:

  • Travelling across Australia & New Zealand, performing security audits and risk vulnerability assessments across stadia, festivals, amphitheatres, clubs, theatres, and third-party venues to Identify operational gaps and strategize corrective actions to ensure risk mitigation
  • Collectively promulgate good and best practice policies and protocols to buy down risk across events, including utilising emergency operations, hostile and errant vehicle deterrence/mitigation, CCTV monitoring, search technologies and screening processes to prevent the entry of prohibited items, weapons and explosives into or within proximity of venues
  • Lead, mentor and guide local teams to obtain and maintain best practice methodologies to Security Operations
  • Drive Live Nations stakeholder relationships with 3rd party venues to ensure alignment to best practice Security, Crowd Safety Management and Emergency Management principles.
  • Implementing security processes, technologies and solutions and working with third party vendors to positively impact security operations and enhance fan experiences
  • Assisting the Senior Director- APAC/VP Global Security International with comprehensive compliance efforts to provide security, operational risk and counterterrorism advice and assistance to respective division leadership
  • Engaging and maintaining relationships with regional, federal, and international law enforcements, government agencies, external stakeholders, industry peers and sub- contractors in support of global security and venue operations
  • Coordinating incident notification, management and emergency response programs with cross-division leadership and relevant Live Nation executives and stakeholders, acting as the focal point for Australia & New Zealand security incidents and incident response.

Who and what are we looking for?

  • Expansive professional experience (15+ years) in law enforcement, event security, crowd management or a similar domain
  • Bachelor’s degree obtainment in a related discipline. Graduate degrees will be highly regarded
  • L5 Crowd Safety Management accreditation or willingness to undertake
  • A high intellect individual who can clearly articulate, evaluate and negotiate security-
  • related concepts across broad audiences comprised of technical and non-technical staff
  • A high calibre leader capable of making crucial decision calls, whilst also being flexible,
  • innovative, and committed to holistic outcomes through empowering their colleagues in
  • a decentralised organisation
  • A collaborator who builds relationships and drives continuous improvement by leading
  • through others
