The Role:

To implement & drive the Flagship (FSP) Physical & Technical security  program across the Flagship  Enterprise of companies.

Here’s What You’ll Do:  

  • Build on the basic components of the existing security program and put program elements into practice with key stakeholders.
  • As an integral  member of the Flagship Emergency Management Team, develop the standards for managing emergency events across Flagship’s core sites in Cambridge, Somerville, and Boston.
  • Work with the property management staff at the  core sites to establish and update post orders for their contracted professional guard force which provides protection for Flagship’s physical assets, sites, & personnel.
  • Ensure all sites follow local, state & federal regulations as they pertain to physical security at biopharmaceutical research & development sites regulated by the US FDA, DEA, HHS, DOD, OSHA and other respective law enforcement agency or local/state governing agency.  
  • Oversee a comprehensive program of cutting-edge closed-circuit television (CCTV), alarm and alarm management, card access, visitor management systems, and intelligence systems in support of Flagship’s physical security  
  • Conduct security risk assessments of Flagship’s strategic R&D & headquarters locations. 
  • Manage an intelligence-led risk assessment of all Flagship’s facilities utilizing various intelligence models to ensure site security remains consistent with expected standards and proactively prepared to respond to both internal & external threats.
  • Partner with Flagship’s Real Estate Operations team as well as facilities, health & safety, HR, Digital/IT & other stakeholders in support of site-specific endeavors.
  • Work closely with the Digital/IT cybersecurity team to evaluate security programs and manage relevant threats to the Flagship environment.
  • Provide input on strategic planning/justification for budgets, staffing, contract maintenance, resource allocation, asset management.
  • Partnering with peers and key consultants when coordinating facility security management.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

    • BS/BA in a related field required, plus a minimum of 5 years of experience in biopharmaceutical / R&D  security operations. 
    • Familarity with local law enforcement and other first responder / public safety organizations.
    •  Strong knowledge in financial/budgetary process.
    • Strong knowledge in technical aspects of security systems to include CCTV, access controls, visitor management, current software/hardware platforms, etc. 
    • Ability to operate amongst a diverse group and encourage coalescence around common goals. 
    • Ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Excellent communication and written skills with proficiency in all standard software systems
