As a Penetration Tester part of the Cybersecurity Operations and Assessments arm of JP Morgan Chase, your role is pivotal in protecting Chase Travel's business operations, client/employee data and the organization's intellectual property. As a in-house Penetration Testing professional you will demonstrate knowledge of Cybersecurity infrastructure and cloud principles.
As an experienced professional in our cybersecurity organization, you won’t just be watching over our data – you’ll be finding innovative new ways to protect it in the future. To do that, you’ll help lead a highly motivated team focused on analyzing, designing, developing, and delivering solutions built to stop adversaries and strengthen our operations. You’ll use your leadership skills to give guidance, advise on best practices and support our business and technology groups. By taking the lead on incident response, risk reviews, vulnerability assessments and identifying threats, you’ll help us deliver cost-effective solutions that put our clients first. You’ll deploy best practices, new policies and emerging trends to strengthen our strategic roadmap. By presenting your findings to senior leaders, you’ll sharpen your communication and presentation skills. Job responsibilities
- Plan, scope, coordinate, and manage penetration tests on a global level from initiation to closure
- Carry out application & network testing of the cloud to expose weaknesses in security
- Black/white/gray box testing
- Manual testing
- Automated testing
- Plan, create and execute penetration attack methods, scripts, and tests using the current polices and process
- Simulate security breaches to test a system's relative security
- Work with the business to determine test requirements
- Understand how identified flaws could affect a business, or business function, if they're not fixed.
- Create reports and recommendations from findings
- Collaborate with other teams to act as an advisor on methods to fix or lower security risks
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification in cybersecurity engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- 3+ years of ‘fingers on keyboard’ experience conducting “manual” penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to include, but not limited to:
- Network testing
- Application testing
- Black/white/gray box testing
- Manual/Automated testing
- Excellent command of cybersecurity organization practices, operations risk management processes, principles, architectural requirements, engineering threats and vulnerabilities, including incident response methodologies
- Ability to identify network attacks and systemic security issues as they relate to threats and vulnerabilities, with a focus on recommendations for enhancements or remediation.
- Experience working in a public cloud environment (e.g. AWS, GCP or Azure)
- Ability to manually conduct a penetration test
- Proficient in coding in one of more languages (e.g. Python, Bash, Java, C++, PowerShell…)
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Strong understanding of infrastructure/cloud architecture and security testing approaches. This will include using tools, manual testing, and various testing techniques.
- Ability to independently conduct and lead security assessments
- Ability to represent/convey information, both verbal/written to multiple organization levels (Social intelligence)
- Ability to explain/convey technical vulnerabilities to technical/non-technical 3rd parties. (Technical Intelligence)
- Understand complex computer systems and technical cyber security terms as well as their applications
- Willingness to travel up to 20%
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Certification(s): OSCP/OSWP/OSCE/OSEE/OSWE/OSEP/CEH and CISSP/CISM
