PROGRAM SECURITY OFFICER, INFRASTRUCTURE

SpaceX’s National Security Programs team supports sensitive U.S. Government launch and mission requirements. Core responsibilities include facilitating security clearances for SpaceX employees who require them for their work and overseeing and supporting the environments in which sensitive work takes place. 

The team is actively seeking a Program Security Officer to assist in the day to day operation and administration of its sensitive spaces. This individual will also assist in the development of new infrastructure in support of expanding U.S. Government work. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect and maintain existing Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) infrastructure
  • Oversee the development of new sensitive infrastructure to ensure compliance with established requirements
  • Interface with and nurture strong relationships with customers to ensure SpaceX is clear on established and evolving requirements
  • Assist with the conduct of security briefings and indoctrinations, develop security education programs, maintain Communications Security (COMSEC) system of hardware, and other Program Officer functions as needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience inspecting, maintaining, and developing classified/cleared infrastructure for U.S. Government work

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • General construction or facilities maintenance experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and highly detail oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer based proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Direct physical security experience
  • Deep knowledge of physical security methodologies and solutions
  • Course completion in SCIF/SAPF construction
  • Experience constructing and accrediting SCIFs/SAPFs
  • Deep knowledge of ICD 705 (NISPOM)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel up to 15% in support of SpaceX security requirements
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance or active Top Secret clearance with favorable completion of a U.S. Government polygraph pursuant to employment. Note that an active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions. If so, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
