Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity, assuming candidates have eligible working rights and a sufficient timezone overlap with their team. As our offices re-open, Atlassians can choose to work remotely or return to an office, unless it’s necessary for the role to be performed in the office. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
Join Atlassian as a new graduate and have a direct impact on how millions of users collaborate and use software. The most amazing thinkers like NASA rocket scientists and Tesla engineers are coming to us for solutions. We're in the business of developing software to help teams everywhere get amazing ideas off the ground and into the world. Here you'll be encouraged to use your imagination and try new things. Do you live and breathe security? Atlassian is currently seeking new graduate Security Engineers to join our growing teams. We're looking for smart people to help us in four important areas:
- Building and running new monitoring and analytics systems to detect compromises. - Writing automation to find and exploit vulnerabilities in our products and marketplace apps.- Researching and suggesting product features to harden our software against common vulnerabilities.- Architecting and securing hardware, networks and corporate infrastructure.
As a new graduate on our security team, you'll be watching over our Atlassian services which host tens of thousands of customers. The team is small, so everyone's contribution is vital.
We’re looking for engineers who love to innovate, are ambitious and driven, and are excited about the opportunity to work with smart people on complex challenges.

On the first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science / Software Engineering or a related technical field and graduating by January 2023
  • Great skills writing clean, efficient code
  • Deep understanding of data structures, in particular how they are implemented and how to apply them to solve problems
  • Familiarity with the application of common design patterns
  • Real passion for collaborating with colleagues to build technical solutions to hard problems
  • Coursework in Cyber Security and other related Security fields
  • You view capture the flag competitions, crack-mes, and "unbreakable" products as challenges to your honor, hacking at them until they yield.

It’s great but not required if you have:

  • Have a real passion for Security Engineering or Security Intelligence, as demonstrated by previous internships, work experience, projects, or publications
  • If you already have a consistent track record in finding vulnerabilities, responsible disclosure or bug bounties that would be a great plus
More about our teams
Security IntelligenceWe want diverse skill sets and people, so we can all learn from each other and do interesting things. We don't just click the same buttons over and over. You will be working along with the product security team - a group dedicated to improving the security of our products and engineering practices. We work both independently and in collaboration with development teams as we assess and respond to security issues that might occur with new products and features.
Corporate SecurityWe are a focused group committed to protecting the security of our customers and their data. We value diverse thinking and creativity, so we can all learn from each other and do interesting things. You will be working with the whole security team to improve our cyber security posture.
Product SecurityThe Product Security team is responsible for making sure Atlassian products and services are safe. We are looking for engineers who thrive on working with development teams to secure their products across the software development lifecycle. Some of our responsibilities include source code auditing, writing automation, running Atlassian's bug bounty, building defenses directly into products, and finding ways to empower engineering teams to build secure products by default. Because we work directly on products and write most of our own tools, the ability to code is crucial.
