About Starburst Galaxy
Our latest product, Starburst Galaxy, provides all the benefits of the best-in-class MPP SQL engine, Trino, on an easy to use, fully-managed and enterprise-ready SaaS platform designed by the open source project's original creators and experts. Having announced General Availability during this year’s AWS re:invent conference, we’re now aggressively hiring to meet the demand and feature requests we’re getting from our customers.
About the role
As a senior security engineer on the Starburst Security Engineering team, you’ll work with Starburst IT and Engineering to design and secure cloud and data environments to meet our customers’ security needs for our growing SaaS data mesh product, to mature corporate security controls that protect our employees, and to support the general security of our software and service products. Daily tasks will include designing and building security controls, operating security tooling, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the security of our products and services. 

Responsibilities:

• Design, prototype, and build security controls for our core multi-cloud infrastructure
• Improve security detection capabilities across all areas of our environment
• Harden Starburst’s environment against current and evolving threats
• Build and implement security solutions across the product lifecycle, including Secure SDLC and product development
• Assist in execution of third party security testing, such as audits, penetration tests, and bug bounty programs
• Respond to and remediate relevant security related incidents
