Dragos is looking for a Principal Security Engineer to join its System Engineering team. The Principal Security Engineer is charged with providing subject matter expertise across Dragos Engineering, providing expert advice on design, implementation, and tactical response to Security issues in Dragos products.  You will help Dragos Engineering leadership develop cybersecurity plans and distill requirements into achievable initiatives. You will be the Security champion within the Engineering organization and will drive and own our various security programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for the Dragos Engineering security program
  • Translate cybersecurity goals and objectives into best-practice controls that balance risk management with Engineering development
  • Assess the current security tool portfolio, proposing changes to meet emerging threats and to otherwise improve capabilities
  • Develop security reference architectures, standards, and guidelines
  • Create sustainable security environments; train junior security personnel, and participate in security operations
  • Lead and conduct security engineering tasks, such as proofs of concept, lab exercises, R&D, security tools, and controls testing
  • Participate in knowledge sharing via involvement in technical discussions and Knowledge Base documentation with other organizations
  • Enhance cybersecurity incident detection, response, and recovery capabilities 

Requirements

  • 7+ years of direct cybersecurity experience, with a strong emphasis on engineering secure solutions
  • Experience working with multiple operating systems, databases, and applications
  • Experience with conducting technical security assessments, including developing or selecting criteria, collecting information, comparing configurations against baselines, discovering and quantifying risks, validating controls, proposing risk treatment options, and producing assessment reports
  • Extensive experience with cloud, on-premise, and virtualized environment security
  • Experience with security automation
  • Experience designing secure networks, systems, and application architectures
  • Ability to professionally communicate security issues to peers, stakeholders, and leadership
  • Complex user support experience (i.e. engineers, product developers, multi-vertical experts)

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $190,000
  • Base + Benefits + Equity = $325,000
  • Comprehensive benefits plan (medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K with match)
  • Equity at Dragos is quickly growing and the total compensation under-represents the future growth and refresh program. This will be discussed on the first call with the Dragos recruiter.
