About the role

Crypto.com is looking for a dynamic, experienced Data Privacy Manager, APAC. This position is critical to the continued success of the business. The Data Privacy Manager, APAC will work alongside our existing team and report to the office of the Group CISO, supporting our top-of-class Security, Risk, Privacy and Information Security Compliance programs.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Legal graduate from a reputable university
  • Understand and own the Hong Kong office Data Privacy compliance program to be in line with Hong Kong’s PDPO. Align Hong Kong privacy program with up-coming China PIPL / China Cybersecurity Laws and other China regulations were needed, as well as other APAC regulations from Australia, Singapore and others.
  • Drafting privacy related documents including policies, procedures, and opinions
  • Supporting office of the Global Data Protection Officer, as well as the Chief Information Security Officer.
  • Assist with Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA’s), Vendor Risk Assessments, Data Processing Agreements, Vendor Contract reviews, and other security/privacy related contracts and related matters. (This role, while primarily focussed into APAC, will also work closely with the global team covering GDPR, CCPA, CPRA and other global regulations as part of the global data privacy program.
  • Assist with regional security Intellectual Property applications and management and lifecycle.
  • Assist with other security/privacy team paralegal tasks and projects.
  • Experience in dealing with data subject access requests for different regions
  • Drafting security / privacy related documents.
  • Knowledge of the EU Privacy Regulatory framework (including but not limited to CJEU jurisprudence and guidelines issued by the ICO and WP29/EDPB).
  • Eagerness to learn in the fast-changing environment of the Fintech industry.
  • Excellent communication culture in a diverse multinational environment.
  • Work with cross departments in APAC to champion data privacy, and assist with privacy training programs
  • Experience with incident response planning and execution and reporting to local regulators
  • Fluency in English / Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin)

Requirements

  • Compliance experience/knowledge in the field of relevant EU financial legislation.
  • Relevant information privacy certificate(s) preferred, including but not limited to CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT from IAPP.
  • Experience with compliance management platforms preferred (e.g. One Trust and Data Guidance).
  • Dealing with requests for information from law enforcement authorities.
  • Performing Data Protection Impact Assessments.
  • Knowledge of the privacy regulatory frameworks outside of Asia including USA, Brazil, Canada, Australia.
  • Be pragmatic. Understand that we are a young start up and that the key to solving problems is to work closely with different stakeholders to find out of the box solutions and be innovative and creative.
