Starting with best-selling Kindle family of products, Amazon Devices developed and produced ground-breaking devices like Amazon Echo, Fire tablets, Amazon Fire TV, Echo Show, Echo Spot, and more. The Role:
Are you interested in being part of a top-notch security team covering all Amazon devices (including hardware and low-level functionality) as well as key Amazon services supporting our consumer devices (such as Computer Vision, AppStore, Device Registration, Kindle, etc.)? If you want to keep customers safe, then we have a job for you! Amazon’s Digital team is growing and looking for a strong leader.
In this role, you will work on OS platform security or hardware security for Amazon devices ranging from IoT devices like Kindle, Echo, FireTV, tablets, Ring doorbells and cameras, to upcoming projects like Project Kuiper (satellites) and automotive security.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will:
* Be responsible for analyzing the security of hardware or operating system platform components of consumer devices
* Identify security risks and work with product engineers to create mitigations
* Develop and execute security policies and procedures
* Develop and deliver training materials and to promote security awareness and educate others on security technology
* Participate in projects that develop new intellectual property
About the team
Digital Security is responsible for empowering and enabling the organizations of Amazon Devices to develop and build secure products, including responding to public vulnerabilities and reviewing or co-developing security features to protect our end users.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Security, or a related field
* 7+ years of industry experience with hands-on engineering experience
* Strong experience with the application of threat modeling or other risk identification techniques
* Development experience in C, C++, and/or assembly (x86, x86-64, ARM)
* Experience with hardware security, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security
* Experience and involvement with development team(s) that delivered commercial software, services, or hardware devices
* Experience with scripting (e.g. , ruby, bash)
* Knowledge of common wireless connectivity protocols (e.g. Bluetooth, WiFi, 802.15.4)
* Knowledge of hardware security mechanisms, including secure boot, trusted execution environments
* Knowledge of operating system internals, with emphasis on Linux and common RTOS environments
* Familiarity with system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent leadership skills and teamwork skills
* Results oriented, high energy, self-motivated
