MessageBird is scaling globally and we are seeking a Senior Manager, IT Security to build a world-class vulnerability and patching program for the cloud. The Senior Manager, IT Security is truly an opportunity to build a SecOps organization from the ground up. Partnering with leadership, the Senior Manager, IT Security will set the vision and build a new SecOps team, implement the hottest and newest tools, and align mission-critical cloud security operations to our overall growth strategy.

The Senior Manager, IT Security has the ability for upward mobility and would be a highly influential leader within our organization. 

Core Focus Areas:

• Current state assessment while being hands-on (Q1-Q2): Conduct a current state assessment with vulnerability and patching maturity, compliance, skillset gaps for SecOps team hiring, toolset review, and strategic projects

• Shape a new SecOps culture: Set the tone for how SecOps will operate in a large, growing organization. While providing the highest level of information security, you and your team will rally a diverse organization behind a culture that promotes a unified front of people, processes, and technology

• Mentorship: We are a people-first organization driven by relationships. Hiring and promoting growth and development from within your team is a priority. Cross-functional mentorship and thought leadership to drive SecOps value into core areas of our business

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of commensurate success building a cloud (AWS) SecOps organization AND preferred information security certification, including Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) 
• Success with implementing new security technologies, including threat intelligence platforms, network security, intrusion detection, and digital forensics, NGFWs
• Strong background and knowledge of OWASP, COBIT, SAN
• Strong problem solving and prioritization abilities
