About the Role:

The Team Lead of Security Operations is a blend of both leadership and technical competencies.  A detailed understanding of the role is critical while developing processes, coaching of the team, and measuring both internal performance and external performance against our customer facing Service Level Agreement’s (SLA’s).

Responsibilities:

  • Contributions to the maturity of the team in the form of process, people, and tool improvements
    • Process – understand, design or refine the current processes and seek ways to scale, measure, and drive efficiencies. This includes runbooks, standard operating procedures, and workflow items
    • People – continue to enhance the team in the areas of training, coaching, mentorship and performance feedback. This includes regular one-on-ones, career and personal development, acting as the advocate to remove obstacles that are facing the team members from being efficient, a working with the leadership team to evolve the role and overall responsibilities
    • Tools – continuously improve the tools that we use – augment the capabilities, look for opportunities, and leverage new capabilities
  • Provide input into the Product Teams and R&D on efficiency improvements
  • Onboarding of new team members within the iSOC
  • Strong communication skills to easily interact with a variety of different people and personalities. Success in this role depends on highly effective communication
  • Continuous drive to learn new aspects of the security business
  • Impeccable follow through, and ability to challenge the status quo
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Leadership of the team that works in a 24x7x365 environment. While this role is considered business hours, the support for the team; which may take form in after hours from time to time is expected

Required Skills and Experience:

  • BS in Computer Science, 5 years in a security role, or university degree in a Computer Security program desirable
  • Leadership experience in any fashion is an asset

You will be required to attend trainings, seminars or webinars relevant to job role to enhance current knowledge base and skill set in order to improve job performance and efficiency.

Security Requirements:

  • Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with AWN’s Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of AWN business information.
  • Background checks are required for this position
