We are looking for a talented, passionate and technically skilled Database Architect to join our Cybersecurity team. The Database Architect must have strong background in OLTP workloads, and will help us build optimized, highly available databases distributed all over the world, used by a large number of services. The Database Architect will work closely with Acronis Software Architects, Developers, QA, Operation teams and will take part in defining database design guidelines and policies, processes and activities, performance tuning, monitoring and troubleshooting facilities for all the relational and NoSQL databases used in Acronis products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build highly available, secure and performance efficient database infrastructure in Acronis products to manage incoming business requirements
• Design and implement efficient production operations processes (monitoring, HA, backup)
• Define how components data should be organized, assistance in database structures migration
• Write and maintain the business logic written on stored procedures in the database
• Review the design of existing databases being used in Acronis products
• Prepare and maintain documentation such as database configuration and content, security, pro-active performance testing, problems prediction
• Participate in the design and development of internal tools for anonymization and comparison of databases
• Participate in migration scripts review and acceptance
• Participate in DB-centric applications components design review process
• Work closely with developers to help designing of required database structures, resolve problems as well as optimize performance on key products
• Mentor and train colleagues where necessary by helping them learn and improve their SQL skills, as well as innovate and iterate on best practices

REQUIREMENTS:

•  5+ years OLTP workload programming and performance optimization experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of relational database design and operation (normalization, denormalization, constraints, indexes, data sharding, etc
• Linux OS administration skills
• Experience in programming: SQL, Python, PL/pgSQL
• Experience in PostgreSQL and/or MySQL (Percona, Mariadb) as DB administrator (tuning, performance troubleshooting, backup, monitoring
• Experience of running at least one database cluster in production (PostgreSQL/ MySQL/ MariaDB/ Percona)
• Upper-Intermediate English
