About the Role

We're searching for a Governance, Risk, and Compliance expert to join Remitly's Information Security team, reporting to our Engineering Manager. Working as part of the Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) function within the Information Security Office at Remitly, the GRC Engineer will build on the daily IT compliance, data governance, and IT risk management departments. You will lead in defining and communicating IT and organizational policies to support legal and regulatory compliance needs, general IT, and organizational information security practices.

You'll accomplish this by partnering with our BISO, GRC Technical Program Manager and essential partners to guide decisions.

You Will

• Lead automation and orchestration of the program for security GRC
• Partner with our Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, and Financial Controls teams.
• Build our internal GRC platform product supporting Security and the peer teams above.
• Support vendor due-diligence process, request for information (RFIs) and help lead and establish overall third-party risk management efforts
• Partner with a squad of engineers to provide automation solutions and achieve a continuous state of compliance
• Support our audit process for relevant compliance concerns including PCI-DSS, SOX, Privacy regulations

You Have

• 5+ years of experience as a security engineer or security consultant
• 2+ years of progressive GRC experience
• Development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages like Go, React, Java, and PHP
• Experience at startups creating inspiring products in regulated industries (Fintech, Healthtech)
