At Scale, our mission is to accelerate the development of AI.  We are looking for an experienced physical security professional who can contribute to our growing real estate footprint to meet industry best practices in asset and real estate safeguarding.  Scale offers a unique opportunity to work with security, compliance, and facilities leadership to build a program from the ground up at a company that’s looking to expand across the nation in the next few years.  This position is located in San Francisco, California.

You will

  • Participate in the development of the global physical security strategy and oversee its implementation, including physical security policies and standards.
  • Investigate and report maintenance and safety conditions which might endanger the client, its associates or public safety, including fires, evacuations, hazardous situations, or other facility-related events; provide back up to client personnel as needed.
  • Work with building security and local Emergency Services Providers as necessary
  • Document and report incidents or issues related but not limited to security and safety.
  • Manage and monitor video surveillance systems, access control systems and alarm monitoring systems as required.
  • Provision and deprovision access control badges for clients on a timely basis.
  • Address security/emergency or other critical situations, including contacting and working with building/local emergency services providers as necessary.
  • Patrol assigned post on foot to maintain visibility and observe possible unusual activity.
  • Participate in scheduled physical security audits of door readers and other physical security devices.
  • Ensure that daily administrative documentation is kept concise and complete at all times; maintain all daily assigned equipment in functional and presentable condition.
  • Escort visitors, contractors, and vendors as required.

Ideally you'd have

  • Knowledge in access control and surveillance systems
  • Knowledge in IT technologies pertaining to the physical security field.
  • Knowledge in fire safety legislations/building code.
  • Methodic and result-oriented with excellent Organization skills.
  • Ability to interact with representatives from different backgrounds, to show pedagogy and communicate technical or safety concepts to all types of stakeholders.
  • Ability to write clear and concise documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • English language is required (oral/written).
  • Valid California Guard Card preferred.
