Head of Security Engineering & Operations

We’re building our Head of Security Engineering & Operations and looking for a leader. As Head of Security Engineering & Operations, you and your team will help protect the global business community through the support of achieving and maintaining trustworthy outcomes and experiences for Tessian customers and internal stakeholders.

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll get to:

  • In partnership with the CISO, define strategy and lead execution of our internal security roadmap with a scope including corporate SaaS, employee endpoints, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain the detection engineering and security incident response capabilities for Tessian.
  • Lead adoption and development of modern, progressive, and cloud-native security solutions to support a rapidly growing business and product.
  • Scale proactive and reactive security controls to new environments and use cases.

  • This role will build out a team, with an early focus on security engineering roles.

  • Key Working Relationships

  • The InfoSec Lead partners with a larger number of cross-organizational partners, including Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Engineering, Product, Business Operations, IT, and the Security team.

We’d love to meet someone who:

  • Previous people management experience is required, with experience building new teams and managing security engineer roles preferred
  • Commitment to building intersectionality inclusive teams and safe working environments that support asynchronous and remote-first collaboration
  • Experience building and managing technical control outcomes to enable successful security audit and certification outcomes such as SOC2 and ISO 27001
  • Passion for, and previous experience with, building and maintaining customer trust in SaaS products
  • Proven ability to work asynchronously with globally distributed stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional emotional intelligence
  • Experience making important decisions independently and prioritizing work effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive decisions
  • Ability to build and leverage cross-organizational influence to achieve goals
