The Amazon Web Services Security Operations Center (AWS SOC) is a fast-paced global operations associated with physical security and emergent events. Within AWS SOC Risk Management, the Workplace Incident Management (WIM) Program rapidly triages a diverse set of global events while collaborating with various stakeholders to drive resolution. We are seeking an experienced Workplace Threat Manager and Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assist the AWS SOC Risk Management WIM Team in bar-raising program development, tactical support, strategic direction, and coordination of communication during physical security and life-safety events.

The ideal candidate for this position has strong verbal and written communication skill sets as well as excellent interpersonal skills, enabling them to successfully influence business decisions and facilitate positive resolutions to complex, and ongoing, threat management cases. You must have a proven ability to facilitate program development, develop and deliver training, threat assessment, risk mitigation, and threat response for WIM events. You will thrive in fast paced and dynamic environments, operate at a high level of autonomy, and be a creative problem solver. You will become familiar with multiple facets of AWS while insisting on the highest standards for themselves and everyone they work with.

We are seeking motivated team members with an ability to manage high severity events by coordinating with stakeholders and providing situational updates to leadership and customers. You will contribute towards the development and implementation of our WIM and Risk Strategy while serving as a SME for workplace violence, imminent threat, and workplace security programming. You will analyze, disseminate and distribute data to drive program development, compliance, and response. You must be able to manage highly sensitive and urgent escalations, bringing subject matter expertise to effectively manage workplace threats while building capabilities that deliver best practices for early risk identification, intervention, and implementation of response protocols to reduce workplace violence incidents and the severity of their impact. This will include the design, organization, and delivery of effective awareness training and education to all levels of the company and direct reports. Additionally, you must liaise with multiple layers of global law enforcement and cultivate sustainable relationships with industry experts.

Basic Qualifications


· Minimum five (5) years complex threat management
· Bachelor's degree or 5+ equivalent year’s professional experience
· 2+ years experience of managing/support a global Workplace Violence Mitigation/Workplace Incident Management program
· 2+ years experience in conducting investigative work, investigative interviews, audits, data analysis, and intelligence gathering
· Must be able to work any shift within the 24/7 operation; including nights, holidays and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

· Advanced degree or other specialized training in psychology, human resources or another related field a significant plus
· Threat/Risk Management and/or HR certifications
· Prior experience working with business partners such as Human Resources, Safety, Employee Relations, EAP or Legal
· Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and partnerships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
· Ability to function within an essential services team
· Ability to handle confidential information with care.
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
