We’re excited to launch our 2022 Summer Internship search and are looking for our next Security Research Intern for the Summer of 2022! 

Are you an energetic individual with a “figure it out” attitude that is passionate about cybersecurity and comfortable in a fast-moving organization? As our Security Research Intern, you will be part of a motivated engineering team that is responsible for the research, development, and delivery of cybersecurity projects across the organization. If you are up to this challenge, we’d love to hear from you! 

This Work Will Expose You to:

  • Externalizing research by writing blog posts, social media and webinars
  • Researching current vulnerabilities, attacks and countermeasures
  • Enhancing the identification and classification (fingerprinting) of devices through the open-source project Recog

What you'll bring:

  • Coursework in computer science, information technology, hardware systems, or similar topics
  • Interest in Information and Cyber Security
  • An inquisitive, figure-it-out and we-can-do-this attitude
  • In-depth knowledge of computer networking, and protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SSL and SMTP protocols
  • Experience with network analysis tools, analysis of packet captures.
  • Strong experience with scripting languages (Ruby, Python, Bash). Go is a plus
  • Familiarity with operating system internals and low-level programming (assembly) is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A keenness to solve problems

Note on Remote: Our hope is that this position will be able to work in person at our headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan. However, we are open to remote work or a hybrid scenario for the right candidate. Additionally, we will continue to monitor the impact of COVID-19 and and may make the decision to make this position 100% remote as we near Summer 2022.
