Senior Security Engineer

What You'll Do: 

• Architect and build fraud and abuse detection systems for a high-volume SaaS product
• Conduct risk evaluations with business and information security teams
• Perform investigation and analysis of fraud incidents
• Work with the backend engineering team on design and implementation of abuse-resistant billing and payment systems
• Build rate-limiters, CAPTCHA systems, and other practical anti-abuse systems in and around our existing applications
• Work with engineers and the legal team on finance-related compliance
• Assist law enforcement officers in fulfillment of subpoenas and other information-gathering requests

About You: 

• Strong software engineering background
• Experience doing anti-fraud engineering, billing/payments systems, information security, and/or compliance engineering
• Know the difference between a CVE and a CVV
• Knowledge of financial compliance frameworks including PCI
• Experience working on high-availability distributed systems
• Proficiency using the Unix command line and developing software in a Linux environment
• Expertise in Python, Ruby, Rust, or Go a plus
• Familiarity with machine learning and/or statistical analysis techniques a plus
• Comfortable working for a "tweener" company
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Experience working with military, government, or banking regulators a plus
