WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Maintain a comprehensive information security program that develops, maintains, and implements policies and processes that enable consistent, effective information security practices
• Establish a rigorous process of continuous control monitoring to assure ongoing implementation of controls to meet security objectives and, additionally, to ensure adherence to chosen audit frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, SOC2)
• Review legislation and provide assistance in projects with global compliance requirements (HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
• Partner with business stakeholders across the company to raise awareness of risk management concerns
• Manage and as necessary add to, a  security team ensuring every role/hire reflects and complements the goals of the team
• Partner with engineering team managers to continuously improve security of Sendbird’s core tech stack
• Have established protocols and respond rapidly and effectively to IT security incidents
• Understand and continuous improve the security system which supports the business of a global company that operates 24/7

WHO YOU ARE

• Must be organized and methodical, with strong attention to detail and an ability to analyze and interpret information
• High level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters, and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional maturity; demonstrated ability to effectively interact and build relationships with a diverse group of clients and colleagues
• Recent successful experience with rapid growth, high reliance on process, metrics and professional discipline.
• Highly motivated, committed self-starter who can prioritize work, multi-task, and cope with changing priorities from the perspective of the global company

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• A minimum of 12 years of combined relevant experience (e.g. security management, operations, implementation, and/or consulting; privacy; business continuity; IT operations) is required; more experience is strongly preferred
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role, including information security planning, scheduling, assignment, and monitoring of staff and resources.
• Experience in any of the following B2B industries: financial services, technology, cloud-based businesses (e.g. IaaS, SaaS)
• Knowledge and demonstrated experience of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as US HIPAA, EU GDPR
• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related field preferred
• Security certifications such as Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or other SaaS industry-related security credentials
