Description

Today, Cobalt helps secure hundreds of leading B2B companies (GoDaddy, HubSpot) by connecting them with on-demand pentesting experts. The platform brings both sides together to identify, triage and fix vulnerabilities. Seven years and over 20K commits later, our technology has been battle tested by thousands of users.

What's next?  Cobalt is growing its Pentester Experience team to help solidify our status as a world-class security platform. As a Senior Frontend Engineer on this team, you’ll leverage your expertise to design and build Cobalt’s pentester interfaces and establish Cobalt as part of the larger, connected SDLC and security tooling ecosystem. You’ll work collaboratively with product managers and designers to drive the implementation and release of major features, and be a champion of best practices for writing well-tested, well-organized code.

What You Would Do

• Work in a remote first engineering team (our engineering base is in Berlin)
• Make an impact as we build the best Pentest as a Service Platform
• Help us scale and improve our business operational efficiency
• Partner with product, customer success and pentest architect teams to gather requirements, brainstorm solutions and deliver creative solutions that meet needs with respect to usability, performance, aesthetics, reliability and realistic implementation schedules
• Consistently deliver high quality features and functionality
• Plan and lead testing for complex projects
• Review code and mentor other engineers
• Provide time estimates and participate in agile development and continuous delivery processes 
• Review specifications and work with PMs to drive sprints

You Identify As

• Self-Starter. As a senior member of the team, you’ll feel at home as a hands-on, self-directed contributor who drives initiatives within the team and cross-team, for the product and for other engineers
• Team-Player. You collaborate with other engineers and the Product team (PMs, Designers) daily to deliver high quality features on-time and identify ways to continuously improve how you and your team work
• Technical-Interface. Not only internally, but with customers and other stakeholders, you’ll help others understand technical complexities and opportunities in terms they’ll understand
• Frontend-Focused. You're familiar with modern frontend frameworks, working primarily in React, and you like to pair with designers to build delightful user experiences

You Must Have

• 7+ years of professional experience with frontend technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and React/Redux, Formik, React testing lib, Cypress. You don't have to know all of it for sure.
• Strong experience in JavaScript, understanding of concepts (Closures, Scopes, Hoisting, Context, OOP)
• Experience building and working with design systems and component libraries
• Experience working with RESTful APIs
• Practical usage of SOLID principles
• Experience with automation testing and continuous deployment processes
• Solid understanding of build tools and bundlers, such as webpack
• Good written and verbal communication in English
• Comfortable working in distributed environment

Nice to Have

• Experience in breaking up a monolithic frontend into independent modules and working in a microservice environment.
• Experience with GraphQL
