UltraViolet Cyber is seeking an experienced Security Engineer supporting a Zero Trust Architecture deployment for a large-scale network enterprise environment. This resource will be part of a small team of security engineering resources architecting and then implementing the organization's Zero Trust strategy. Someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, work autonomously, wear multiple hats, and with an attitude that no task is too small or too technical. To be successful in this role, the ZTA Implementation SME should have;
• Ability to delivery autonomously and wear multiple hats in a flat, fast-paced organization (i.e. no task too small, no task too technical)
• Knowledge of Offensive Security and Defensive Counter Measures.
• Knowledge of Risk Management Framework, DISA STIGs, NIST 800-207.
• Ability to author/develop technical documents, powerpoints, frameworks, schedules and other documents, often with little-to-no peer support.
• Ability to present information, conduct assessments and work independently with all levels of an organization.
What You'll Do:
- Support implementation of ZTA infrastructure at a Federal agency
- Review, analyze, and provide support for ZTA security configurations, designs, and solutions
- Consult with SMEs on ZTA approach and impacts to business
- Recommend technologies and integrations that meet ZTA requirements
- Perform client ZTA assessment, gap analysis, and maturity assessments
- Help develop ZTA implementation roadmap and strategy with respect to ZTA requirements
- Provide expertise on policy, governance, process, workflow, and ZTA organizational change
- Work to infuse ZTA design principles across all the ZTA tenets
- Stay abreast of federal/commercial best practices, implementations, and solutions
- Maps requirements and security control frameworks to designed controls
What You Bring:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience with enterprise security architecture and designing, building and implementing enterprise IT security systems
- Advanced knowledge of Zero Trust pillars/concepts, frameworks and implementation strategies
- Ability to assess existing technologies and make recommendations on best practices for ZTA components (good to have knowledge of cloud systems)
- Experience in developing TO-BE architecture, concept of operations, and transformation roadmaps
- Strong capability and extensive experience in capturing technical requirements and defining technical solutions in the form of conceptual, logical, and physical designs.
- Experience in developing cost models, technical delivery plans, technical solutions, basis of estimates (BOEs) and Bill of Materials (BOM) development.
- Experience in data classification standards and controls, network architecture/applicances/segmentation, SEIM
- Enhances security team accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions; answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members; teaching improved processes; mentoring team members.
- Adheres to industry standards (e.g. CISA, NIST standards) in planning, evaluating and implementing ZTA technologies
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral); ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand.
