About the Team

In support of the phenomenal growth in the number of Workday customers and Workmates, we are growing our cybersecurity tools program to continue to deliver world class capabilities. Our team is building a Security Excellence Centre of the future to foster our customer’s confidence in our platform. This means we are continually innovating our security tools capabilities in the areas of M/L, using NPL, Big Data and automation.

About the Role

Join Workday's Cyber Defense Security Tools Engineering team as a Security Engineer. This position involves architecture design of the security tools with a focus on SIEM, SOAR, Data Lake and automation and the validation of design choices. You will be working closely with the cybersecurity response, network, engineering, and IT teams in coordinating and automating data on-boarding in SIEM and in Security Data Lake. The team you would be on designs, architects, administers and supports a multi-terabyte per day Splunk clusters, SOAR platform, and Data Lakes. The team provides full-service support and Centre of Excellence (CoE) level mentorship to Workday’s internal teams and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Design and support the next generation of logging strategy as it relates to Data Lakes and SEIM.

• Design and support the automated deployment of security infrastructure in both Data Centres and in Public Cloud

• Install, build and maintain Splunk, Cribl, SOAR and related Apps and add-ons 

• Lead cross-team efforts with other internal organizations

• Support team and respond at any time on issues related to security tooling

• Lead key initiatives and goals for the Cyber Defense Security Tools Engineering team

About You

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of B.S. Degree in STEM field or clear evidence of engineering excellence

• 3+ years experience in IT/Security

• 3+ years experience in any config management tools, such as Chef, Ansible, or Terraform

Other Qualifications

• Programming experience in Python

• Version Control System (Git or BitBucket)

• Continuous integration tools (ideally Jenkins, Atlantis)

• Experience writing and supporting open-source tools

• Experience working in any of the major cloud service providers – AWS, GCP.

• Basic understanding of Big data, and machine learning

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $172,200 USD - $258,300 USD

 

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $155,800 USD - $270,000 USD
