As the Manager of the Networking & Cybersecurity team at Fluence, you will play a pivotal role in leading and nurturing a high-performing team of professionals. Your primary focus will be on team management, structural day-to-day operations, providing guidance and mentorship, and serving as the organizational interface for handling escalations. This role is essential in ensuring the effectiveness and growth of our Networking & Cybersecurity team focused on Operational Technology (OT).
What does a Manager of Networking and Cybersecurity do at Fluence?
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage the Networking & Cybersecurity team, including day-to-day operational activities, workload management, and resource allocation.
- Provide clear direction, set performance expectations, and conduct regular performance evaluations for team members.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Technical Leadership:
- Utilize your strong technical background to provide visionary technical leadership to the Networking & Cybersecurity team.
- -Drive the design and implementation of innovative technical solutions that enhance our OT security posture and meet evolving industry standards and challenges.
- Jira Management:
- Oversee the team's workflow and projects through Jira, ensuring tasks are properly structured, assigned, and tracked.
- Implement best practices for task management, backlog grooming, and sprint planning within Jira to optimize team productivity.
- Career Development and Mentorship:
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, helping them achieve their career goals and professional development objectives.
- -Identify training needs and facilitate skill development opportunities for team members.
- Team Performance Metrics:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the performance and effectiveness of the Networking & Cybersecurity team.
- Continuously monitor and analyze team performance data, implementing improvements as needed.
- Strategy and Planning:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic plans for the Networking & Cybersecurity team, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives.
What does the ideal candidate look like?
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in a leadership role, managing technical teams, with a focus on networking and cybersecurity.
- -Strong technical understanding of OT Networking & Cybersecurity concepts and technologies.
- -Experience developing and implementing a comprehensive change management structure.
- -Experience supporting multiple product lines with varying requirements and building a cohesive security posture.
- -Experience with Jira for task management tool and backlog planning.
- -Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- -Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interface with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- -Demonstrated ability to handle and resolve technical escalations in a fast-paced environment.
- -Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
