POSITION PURPOSE:
As a Junior Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a vital role in our organization's efforts to protect and secure our digital assets and information systems. This position is designed to provide you with a strong foundation in cyber security, and you will work closely with experienced professionals to develop and implement security measures to safeguard our systems, data, and network infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Security Monitoring and Incident Response: Monitor security alerts and incidents, investigate potential threats, and provide timely responses to mitigate risks. Collaborate with the security team to investigate and resolve security incidents.
· Vulnerability Assessment: Assist in performing vulnerability assessments and security audits to identify weaknesses in the organization's infrastructure. Work on remediation plans and track progress.
· Security Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to security policies and standards by conducting periodic compliance checks, identifying gaps, and working on remediation strategies.
· Security Tools Management: Gain proficiency in using various security tools such as intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, firewalls, and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solutions.
· Security Awareness Training: Assist in creating and delivering security awareness training to employees, helping them understand best practices for safeguarding sensitive information.
· Security Documentation: Maintain and update security documentation, including incident reports, procedures, and policies. Assist in developing and implementing security procedures and guidelines.
· Threat Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with the latest cyber threats and vulnerabilities by monitoring threat intelligence sources. Contribute to threat analysis and adaptation of security measures accordingly.
· Security Auditing and Reporting: Assist in the preparation and presentation of security reports to management, detailing security incidents, compliance status, and recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· 2 years of work experience with incident detection, incident response and forensics.
· Must have technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills
· Must have a command of network management principles.
· Experience in systems administration of Windows and Linux based operating systems.
· Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, C++, Java, Ruby, bash, Power Shell etc.
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
· Great awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.
· Ability to learn and communicate technical information to non-technical people.
· Must have excellent written & oral communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
· Certifications in security related disciplines (eg: Security+, CEH, CIISSP, etc) preferred
