As a Security Vulnerability Analyst you are responsible for:

  • Execution and planning of vulnerability analysis campaigns on high security embedded devices (secure elements, secure microcontroller products, etc.) during product development.
  • Execution and support of vulnerability analysis activities in support of common certifications of products (technical report review, follow-up investigation etc. with focus on hardware, crypto libraries, and operating systems)
  • Support of the various HW and SW development teams of NXP with state-of-the-art security know-how and keep close contacts with all groups within NXP that take an interest in security (Research as well as BLs)
  • Review of academic research and investigate new potential attack paths on high security smart cards and secure elements

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Master in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar with a focus on embedded systems and integrated circuits in general
  • Interest in and basic understanding of cryptography and attacks on common cryptographic algorithms
  • Ideally with proven expertise in Faults Attacks and/or Side-Channel Attacks on Embedded Devices and knowledge about countermeasures in HW and SW
  • Proven knowledge in working with integrated circuits and embedded system. Comfortable in modifying circuit boards, setting up measurement circuitry, advanced oscilloscopes and general Electrical lab equipment.
  • Knowledge of Risc-V/ ARM based microcontroller products; C, JAVA, Python and ideally assembler language
  • Experience with advanced CMOS HW designs and their underlying non-volatile and volatile technologies would be beneficial
  • The ability to work independently is essential
  • A creative approach to problem solving with a focus on achieving objectives
  • Ideally with experience of academic / industrial research (conferences, workshops, journals, etc.) including personal participation in such events
  • Good communication skills including the ability to present ideas formally in meetings as well as individually
  • Ability to interact smoothly with a diverse range of colleagues, customers and partners inside and outside of NXP

Contract: This is a full-time position with a permanent contract. However, we are open to discuss a part-time opportunity as well.
