About the Role

Twitch is looking for a Security Engineer to join our Security Architecture (SecArch) team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of the Security Engineering Organization, our team's mission is to guide Twitch communities to build securely. We are looking for people who want partner with our Twitch peers to level up Twitch's security posture and reduce infrastructural security risks. We are passionate about helping teams with infrastructure design and implementation, creating policies to guide our peers, and identifying and prioritizing Twitch data and infrastructure risks. As a Security Engineer on SecArch, you will partner with Twitch teams to protect Twitch's data, implement important security controls, and evaluate and remediate security risk. You'll help us relaunch our Third-party Application Review program and determine our Architecture Review Program. We do not expect you to be an expert in all of the team's responsibilities but we do expect you to be familiar with several of the team's responsibility areas, or well versed in one of them and interested in the other areas.

You Will:

  • Design patterns, repeatable guidance, and where necessary, policy
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in security engineering fields throughout the organization
  • Consult with both product-focused and horizontal teams, both engineering and not
  • Help teams to make the right security calls
  • Perform architecture and data handling reviews
  • Perform risk assessments and risk exceptions

You Have:

  • Have a clear understanding of cloud computing services/deployment architecture
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in network, system, or software architecture; design, implementation, support, and evaluation of security-focused tools and services
  • Experience identifying security risks, and developing mitigation plans

  • Fluency with AWS
  • Demonstrate software development proficiency (Go, Python, Perl, or Java)
  • Experience performing risk and vulnerability assessments
