As a Senior Data Security Software Engineer, you will help implement our data cataloging, classification, security strategy and systems. Roblox operates at a large scale. We reach millions of people daily.

You Will:

  • Create performant solutions on large datasets
  • Implement the strategy of how we protect and secure data
  • Build tools and solution to help make data protection easy for Roblox engineering teams
  • Report to the Director of Product and Application Security
  • Partner cross-functionally with the storage team, and across engineering and infrastructure teams

You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience: As a data or software engineer.
  • Expertise: in at least one programming language such as Python, Golang or C#, and interested to learn new languages and technologies.
  • Experience with: Software development in applied cryptography.
  • A background in Information and Data Security: You have a deep understanding of data security best practices.
  • Familiarity with: data governance principles, compliance frameworks, and PII/PAN data protection policies.

You Are:

  • Collaborative: You love working with your direct team and cross-functional partners
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: You can gather data and make informed decisions when there is no clear answer.
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$241,340—$313,400 USD
