What you’ll be doing every day:

  • Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, provide local support for compliance programs. Working with and taking direction from the Data privacy office located in head office, Waterloo Ontario Canada. The candidate will provide local lead, drive and execute our program initiatives to ensure that the right privacy controls and data governance processes are adhered to in ApplyBoard’s India office.
  • Act as a second shift for alert monitoring companywide Security systems and escalation.
  • Complete local client security and compliance questionnaires as required
  • Assist in local security and forensic analysis as required.
  • Working with the auditing team, perform local audits of access, infrastructure based on a standards-based compliance program.

What you bring to the table:

  • 5 to 10+ years of hands-on experience in communications security experience.
  • Strong understanding of advanced security systems, IPS, WAF, Next Gen security and cloud technologies.
  • Understanding of global data protection laws and regulations, ideally an understanding of India’s new privacy legislation, GDPR, PIPEDA, and CCPA
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, able to communicate effectively with and provide direction to leaders and employees at every level of organization
  • Stellar analytic and critical thinking skills, including the ability to quickly analyze large volumes of complex information
  • Collaborative, positive attitude, able to deal with diverse challenges in a calm, courteous, and effective manner
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience
  • Demonstrated discretion in handling privileged and confidential information
  • Ability to prioritize and meet competing deadlines, including assignments involving complex issues, conflicting priorities, and multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate effectively with data subjects, data protection authorities and other controllers and processors across industries and cultures
  • Adequate self-awareness and confidence to acknowledge knowledge gaps and seek to fill them from reliable sources
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in organizational priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google products.
