Challenges You Will SolveAs a leader on our Educational and Research Programs team, your mission is to partner closely with operational teams at Red Canary and identify opportunities to empower the broader information security (InfoSec) community by sharing our subject matter and operational expertise via a variety of mediums. You partner individually with a variety of security-related teams at Red Canary to help disseminate data, information, and insights that range from timely and tactical to visionary or strategic.
You’ll write, review, and edit content in collaboration with other contributors, editors, including our content and social media teams. This includes partnering within and across teams to ensure technical accuracy, quality, readability, and consistency in everything that we publish. 
As a leader and a senior member of our team, you will also:- Mentor others on the Community team and on the Red Canary team at-large. - Participate in cross-functional projects and programs, such as our annual Threat Detection Report - Help to define and execute new programs
In doing the above, you positively impact our ability to grow while continuing to improve quality.

What You'll Do

  • Author or create resources in collaboration with internal teams and external contributors
  • Define and share ownership of our editorial standards, including our style guide
  • Lead projects focused on creation of educational or research resources using a variety of mediums, including written, speaking, or multimedia
  • Specialize and focus across multiple subject matter areas (i.e. intelligence and response and other areas)
  • Help to refine, guide, and provide feedback related to resources during ideation, production, or post-publication 
  • Mentor other team members
  • Report team performance indicators and success metrics on a weekly basis
  • Speak as a subject matter expert and on behalf of Red Canary at conferences to media and other external sources on an as needed basis

What You'll Bring

  • You actively contribute to the information security industry and/or community through writing, speaking, or creating other forms of educational, intelligence, or technical content. 
  • You have a good working understanding of security operations, including threat intelligence, detection engineering, threat research, and incident handling/response.
  • You are eager to expand your knowledge and expertise in this domain by embedding with the various highly operational teams that comprise Red Canary’s security organization.
  • You are an exceptional written communicator and are equally adept at writing about technical topics and abstract concepts in a variety of styles. 
  • You are an avid reader and consumer of InfoSec content ranging from social media and conference talks to books on relevant topics.  
  • You enjoy teaching and learning, and getting paid to do both while helping Red Canary customers and the broader InfoSec community is your idea of an ideal job and career.
Targeted base salary range: $93,000 - 140,000 (depending on experience) + bonus eligibility and equity
