SR. PROGRAM SECURITY OFFICER, PERSONNEL SECURITY

SpaceX is looking for an experienced, well-rounded industrial security professional to provide support for a critical customer effort as a Sr. Program Security Officer with a specific focus on clearances processes/supporting cleared employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in all aspects of the administration and coordination of multiple security programs, accredited facilities, and/or activities to ensure compliance with government, customer, and company security policies and procedures
  • Identify program issues and implement corrective action(s)
  • Conduct security briefings, indoctrinations, and maintain security education programs.
  • Plan for new security programs
  • Assist management with proposal preparation
  • Partner with various government agencies to ensure the organization is in compliance with directives and regulations – including interpretations and deviations from these directives and regulations, as appropriate
  • As a senior member of the team and expert in your field, you will help develop teammates and provide leadership
  • Support personnel security and related programs for U.S. Government launch contracts

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate 
  • 7+ years of combined security related experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO), Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO), or Certified Special Security Officer (CSSO)
  • Active Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree
  • Strong knowledge of NISPOM, IC directives, and related security policy and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of the electronic questionnaires for investigations processing (e-QIP) system/familiarity with other U.S. Government systems inclusive of DISS

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • An active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions; if so, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing
  • Favorable completion of a U.S. Government polygraph pursuant to employment
  • Ability to travel in support of programmatic requirements

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
