Flexport is looking for Software Security Engineers to help Flexport establish itself as the most trusted company in the global trade ecosystem. As a Software Engineer on our Security team, you will build services and products that help us better secure our products and position security as an enabler.

What you’ll do:

 

  • Design, develop, and implement security libraries and services in collaboration with product and infrastructure engineering teams. 
  • Develop and maintain APIs and integrations for security products with other systems and services.
  • Develop software solutions for security monitoring, threat detection and response, and vulnerability management.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize security needs and translate them into product requirements.
  • Assist with code reviews and quality assurance testing to ensure the security and reliability of the software products.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and trends, and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks.
  • Document and communicate technical specifications and user guides to stakeholders and end-users.

What you’ll need:

  • 6+ years of full-stack software engineering experience using languages such as Java, Python, or Ruby.
  • Experience building and securing APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps automation.
  • Experience with IaaS cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, containers, web related technology, and service-oriented architectures.
  • Excellence in problem-solving, strategic thinking, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to connect with empathy when delivering constructive feedback regarding security matters to engineers and product designers.

Nice to have:

  • Experience developing security services or products.
  • Experience with identity management and identity federation (SAML, Oauth, SCIM, XACML).
  • Experience building and securing GraphQL 
  • Experience performing code audits on internal and open source libraries for inclusion in our products.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range displayed, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and / or training.
The US base salary range for this full-time position: (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits.)
$206,200$229,100 USD
