About the role

We’re expanding our Privacy team and looking for someone to manage our DSARs and privacy incidents teams, in line with the UK GDPR and the UK Data Protection Act. 

This work would include handling data subject requests and erasure requests. In addition, this role would involve handling privacy incidents and assisting with other ad hoc privacy work. 

The individual appointed to this role would work closely with the DPO and Head of Data Privacy, other members of the Privacy team and our Fraud team and Information Security team.

What you’ll do

  • Day-to-day responsibility for the handling of requests from data subjects exercising their privacy rights under the UK GDPR and UK Data Protection Act
  • Advising the business on developments in data protection law and working with internal stakeholders to develop solutions and ensure compliance
  • Responding to data protection queries from the business
  • Data subject requests (DSARs, erasure requests, objections, requests to port etc)
  • Producing records and stats
  • Adapting and innovating process in line with the business’s fast-paced growth
  • Privacy Incidents
    • Working alongside relevant teams such as Information Security, Fraud and Technology to identify the cause of an incident
    • Liaising directly with the complainant (by email or phone)
  • Managing compliance activities, such as ICO registrations, breach reporting and supplying monthly logs to the regulator

About you: 

We are looking for someone with data privacy and management experience.

You'ill need to be a great communicator, and confident working with stakeholders at all levels and be driven by all things data privacy, compliance and information management  related. 

You will also need: 

  • Previous knowledge of redaction and DSAR management tools an advantage
  • A strong understanding of corporate privacy and compliance obligations; 
  • Experience of risk assessment frameworks or broader information security experience  (desirable); 
  • An ability to manage and prioritise workloads;
  • The ability to be flexible and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines;
  • An ability to work within a small team, be self-motivated and independent;
