We are seeking an innovative program manager to develop, integrate, and maintain critical content into our onboarding program and professional development training. These programs help accelerate the growth of our new hires and elevate performance throughout the employee lifecycle. This role will support our operators in Asia and Pacific (APAC). Experience building and managing global programs is highly preferred including localizing solutions and translating content.

The individual will play a pivotal role in assuring the operational readiness of the Amazonians responsible for site security and loss prevention through Amazon’s Global Security Academy (GSA). To be successful in this role the individual should be a skilled facilitator, demonstrate program value through collecting and reporting training feedback, and drive continuous improvement of the program. Applicants must have a track record for performing well in spite of complex or ambiguous challenges.

To be successful in this role the individual will need to excel at balancing business needs with engaging customer experiences and helping to set priorities for the program. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and prior experience in adult education and learning sciences with several years of experience in program management, leading without authority, project prioritization and management, as well as gaining buy-in from leaders at all tiers of the organization.

The candidate will also be comfortable collecting and working with data solicited through course evaluations and assessments as well as analyzing and acting on results to improve training and delivery methods.


Key job responsibilities
• Partner with program and project managers as well as instructional designers to design, develop, and audit learning initiatives
• Support the planning, scheduling, and coordination of all required new hire training in APAC
• Facilitate delivery of GSA learning throughout the APAC region
• Assess attainment of learner outcomes and performance to determine next steps
• Engage with the business in a consultative way to proactively define and scope deliverables
• Support the planning, scheduling, and coordination of training for GSO members in APAC
• Leverage methods of Human Performance Improvement (HPI) to identify performance gaps and opportunities
• Identify methods of addressing human performance through learning and advising appropriately when training is not the answer
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of individuals and programs over time to ensure solutions are making a difference
• Develop innovative and simplified solutions which maximize knowledge retention and awareness while minimizing the operational burden (e.g. seat time) associated with training
• Identify gaps, assess needs, create goals, and work backwards to develop right-sized solutions
• Deploy content which is optimized for customer consumption
• Drive content agility to develop multiuse learning objects and solutions
• Establish measures of success and monitor progress through evaluation metrics
• Prioritize projects and remove roadblocks to achieve results
• Develop and implement strategies to appropriately measure learning including credible business impact
• Develop and implement mechanisms to audit and update content
• Manage a catalog of diverse learning objects and evaluate their efficacy
• Analyze and act on evaluation/assessment results to improve training and delivery methods
• Demonstrate program value through collecting and reporting training feedback
• Drive continuous improvement of the training programs
• Collect and work with data solicited through course evaluations and assessments
• Define customer populations in Amazon’s matrixed working environment and ensure content is relevant to those populations based on geography and role

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of professional or military experience
  • Knowledge of learning and behavioral science
  • Foundational knowledge in the psychology of learning and in systems thinking and analysis
  • Experience providing instructor-led training
  • Experience designing and developing lesson plans, in-class activities, and simulations
  • Experience in the delivery and evaluation of instructional content that supports multiple methods of delivery (classroom, on-the-job, online, etc.)
  • Experience with project prioritization and management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Able to lead without authority

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced education (MS, MA, M Ed, PhD)
  • Professional certification in Program and/or Project Management
  • Has a track record of performing well in spite of complex or ambiguous challenges
  • Able to balance business needs with engaging customer experiences
  • Experience gaining buy-in from leaders at all tiers of an organization
  • Experience working with training evaluation data sets to analyze and measure success
  • Industry specific experience in security, safety, or crisis management
  • Superb communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and prior experience in adult education and learning sciences with several years of experience in program management
  • Some Visio, Articulate 360, Captivate experience
