About the opportunity:

The Network Security Engineer is responsible for all security solutions within our organization. This position will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, troubleshooting, auditing and documenting the status of all security and compliance solutions. The position supports the technology needs of the organization to provide a robust, secure and reliable computing environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborating with multiple business departments to design and implement superior, security focused, network technologies based on functional requirements.
  • Monitor information security requirements, policies, and compliance.
  • Document and communicate security incidents, vulnerabilities and current state of the system.
  • Facilitate security risk management activities, advise on threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Daily Scanning, Implementing and maintaining information security tools and documentation.
  • Updating best practices, security procedures and standards.
  • Provide support to internal teams with security concerns.
  • Must be able to support a 24/7/365 environment, flexible and able to work outside regular business hours as required.
  • Expect to work on multiple projects at any one period of time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What you bring:

  • 7+ years experience of strong network engineering, security and design.
  • Solid understanding of information risk and security guidelines, and architecture standards.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience securing large complex IPS architectures or systems deployed in public cloud.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience performing threat modeling / data flow diagramming / architecture risk analysis, identifying bugs and flaws and driving work items from these activities to resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with engineers to identify the trade-offs of different solutions and recommend the ideal design to meet security requirements.
  • Experience with Juniper or Cisco technologies.
  • Experience with GPON, XGS-PON and NG-PON2 access technologies in Calix, Nokia, or Adtran environments.
  • Experience with IP routing/switching, BGP, LDP, RSVP, OSPF, OSPFv3, IS-IS, Broadband Network Gateway (BNG).
  • Experience in security and fraud prevention tools (Cybersource, Wireshark, nessus vulnerability scan).
  • Experience in IDS/IPS, penetration and vulnerability testing.
  • Experience in security risk assessments and IT audit.

A bit more about you:

  • A university degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CISM, CCSK, CEH, CISSP, GIAC, GCIH, GSEC, PMP and other certification an asset.
  • Network+, Security+, CCNA, CCNP, MCSE an asset.

The base salary range for this position is $114,500 - $134,700. Range shown in $USD for US residents. Other countries will differ. Range may vary on a number of factors including, but not limited to: location, experience and qualifications.
