Job Description

The Junior Security Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the vital elements of our Cyber Security Framework. Additionally, responsibilities will focus on supporting this framework to improve our Security Posture overall.

The Junior Cyber Security Analyst role will be working with and learning about our company's networks, infrastructure, applications, and security and applying this knowledge using our Cyber Security technologies and framework to identify and remediate risks.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Keep abreast of new security issues and methods to protect against them. Leverage our security toolset to monitor and report on cyber-related metrics.
  • Backup monitoring and remediation. Ensure global backups are successful and regularly test recovery capabilities.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of our user awareness training, including regular phishing simulations.
  • Regularly monitor endpoint vulnerability scan results. Identify and remediate/patch newly discovered critical vulnerabilities. Identify and report on trends and anomalies.
  • Endpoint protection management. Utilise tools to verify all client computers and have up-to-date software components. Ensure that newly added computers are protected and Adjust policy settings to defend against emerging threats.
  • Support the help desk when they have technical questions/issues with our endpoint protection software solutions.
  • Review/analyse/remediate reported security incidents (phishing, malware, etc.). As needed, remove malware or suspicious emails when discovered or reported. Communicate and coordinate with the ITW Corporate Cybersecurity Team as appropriate.
  • Respond to internal and external IT security audit questionnaires.
  • Assist and provide backup network support by proactively investigating and learning unique infrastructure. With guidance from the Senior Network Engineer, you will work with a wide range of infrastructure and operating systems.

Qualifications

Formal Education & Certification

  • Industry recognized certifications in cyber security, such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or GSEC.
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, cyber security, or a related field.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Knowledge of cyber security concepts, principles, and technologies.
  • Experience managing Endpoint Protection
  • Experience managing Email Protection
  • Experience maintaining Microsoft Active Directory
  • Office 365 Experience (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Environments, including virtualization
  • Knowledge of IP network infrastructures, troubleshooting and monitoring
  • Knowledge of network and Internet security environments
