WHY BOX NEEDS YOU

Box is looking for a Senior Application Security Engineer focusing on Design Reviews, Code Reviews, Threat Modeling, PenTesting and developing remediation strategies. The mission for the team is to proactively discover, to fix security vulnerabilities and to implement solutions that automate, scale and enhance objectivity. We’re looking for someone who is just as passionate about automating manual aspects of the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (sSDLC).

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Conduct Design Reviews, Threat Models and PenTests on Box Products/Applications

  • Evaluate products for abuse cases through feature exploitation

  • Validate finding from security scanning tools and ideate data-driven enhancement strategies for dynamic (DAST), static (SAST), open source application security testing (SCA) and container security scanning including troubleshooting, and continuous process improvement

  • Deliver reports on completed tests and document technical issues identified during the assessments

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering and broader security teams to provide recommendations for solutions focused on decreasing business risks

  • Identification and maintenance of standards and procedures around the use of tools for approved internal security testing purposes

WHO YOU ARE

  • You understand secure engineering best practices, can articulate problem statements and propose solutions to both technically savvy and non-technical audiences

  • Strong experience of running pen testing from E2E including scoping of what needs testing, the technology, through to the testing itself - all whilst understanding risks & the best techniques to use

  • You are a curious person who looks at problem statements and can clearly propose actionable solutions

  • You have a passion for cyber security demonstrated through participation/leadership in conferences, webinars, Capture the Flag (CTF), TryHackMe, Bug Bounty, Submission of CVEs and/or personal projects

  • Strong understanding of past, current, and emerging security exploits

  • Ability to communicate and report to various levels of technical and non technical stakeholders

  • Remote friendly
