What You Will Do:
Participate on a team that will conduct system audits for a large (finance-oriented) government agency. Run vulnerability scans using tools such as Nessus (for networks and operating systems), AppDetective Pro (for databases), and HP Fortify (for websites). Prepare detailed risk assessment reports and assess network compliance against controls listed in NIST SP 800-37 and 800-53. Determines causes of security violations and recommends corrective actions.   Researches, recommends, and implements changes to procedures and systems to enhance security. Will conduct interviews, artifact and document review and controls testing. Advise the customer on the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and develops a Plan of Action and Milestones for resolving deficiencies. Identifies potential threats and responds to reported security violations.  

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • CISSP or CCSP.
  • 10-15 years of experience in cybersecurity running vulnerability scans using tools such as Nessus (for networks and operating systems), AppDetective Pro (for databases), and HP Fortify (for websites).
  • Direct FISMA auditing experience must include expertise with NIST SP 800-37 and 800-53.  
  • Hands-on experience securing the ports, protocols, and services of both Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills; have the ability to develop documentation and presentations.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and able to obtain a facility clearance.
