The security team is expanding and we need people who will help maintain our objective of safeguarding the company, focussing on detecting, protecting from and responding to cyber threats.

Our goal is to keep RVU moving forward as we explore new opportunities, in a safe, secure and agile way.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect the organisation's computer systems and data from unauthorised access, theft, and other malicious activities.
  • Act as the first line of defence against malicious actors.
  • Monitor systems for irregular behaviour and set up preventative measures.
  • Identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities, develop security protocols and procedures, and implement and monitor security tools and technologies.
  • Configure, troubleshoot and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.
  • Train employees on security best practices and advise on investments to safeguard the company’s computer and network systems.
  • Identify and define system security requirements, seeking improvements on a continuous basis.
  • Understand software, hardware and internet needs whilst adjusting them according to our business environment.
  • Research and investigate the potential impact of new threats and exploits.
  • Implement systems to collect information about security incidents and outcomes.
  • Develop metrics or procedures for evaluating the effectiveness of the systems and tactics being used.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and regulations, and work alongside penetration tester to regularly conduct security audits and risk assessments to identify potential security weaknesses.
  • Role is highly collaborative, involving frequent interaction with the IT team and the wider business.


Skills/Qualifications Required:

  • Proven work experience as a System Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer.
  • Hands on experience with a SIEM solution.
  • Sound working knowledge of Vulnerability Management
  • Hands on experience of Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions.
  • Technical knowledge of cloud security and tooling.
  • Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc
  • Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools.
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
  • Working knowledge of Incident Response processes.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering.
  • CISSP or CEH desired.
