Information Security Engineer

The Information Security Engineer will report to Talend’s CISO and be responsible for providing security engineering design, analysis, and support for Talend’s IT infrastructure, including networks, systems, applications and data.  

Responsibilities:

• Researches, designs, and implements information security solutions across Talend’s Cloud infrastructure that comply with all applicable security policies and standards
• Works with IT, SRE and other relevant internal and external business partners to ensure that security is factored in the evaluation, selection, installation and configuration process of hardware and software
• Analyzes and makes recommendations to improve network, system, application and data architectures
• Examines network, server, application and data logs to determine trends and identify security incidents
• Assists in the review and update of information security policies, architectures and standards
• Assists in responding to audits, penetration tests and vulnerability assessments

Skills and experience:

• Full-stack knowledge of IT infrastructure: Applications,Databases,Operating systems (Windows, Unix and Linux),Containers,Public Cloud Environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), Hypervisors, IP networks (WAN, LAN), Storage networks (Fiber Channel, iSCSI and network-attached storage), Backup networks and media 
• Direct, hands-on experience managing security infrastructure such as firewalls, IPSs, WAFs, endpoint protection, SIEM and log management technology
• Strong knowledge of common vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques
• Practical experience with database security, content filtering, vulnerability scanning, and anti-malware
• Proficiency with at least one scripting language (e.g.: Perl, Python, PowerShell)
• An understanding of business needs and commitment to delivering high-quality, prompt, and efficient service to the business
• An understanding of organizational mission, values, and goals and consistent application of this knowledge
• Strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate one
• An ability to effectively influence others to modify their opinions, plans, or behaviors
• Ideally MS in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience in information security, especially in a security engineering role
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) would be a plus
• English fluency mandatory
