Job Description

This profile will work in the premises of our customer (EU Institution), as a leader consultant who must have a strong ICT Security background, thorough knowledge and proven track record among a good mix of the competencies listed below:

Security Governance-Risk-Compliance:

  • Achieving strategic studies and analysing the future standards and trends in ICT Security;
  • Defining, implementing and managing ICT and Information policies, standard, procedures and guidelines;
  • ICT Security capability building through roadmaps, action plans, maturity models;
  • Risk assessment methods and standards (e.g. ISO 27005, EBIOS);
  • Project management methodologies;
  • IT best practices (e.g. ITIL, COBIT);
  • Operational best practices like Business continuity plan and Disaster Recovery;
  • Security assessment and audit;
  • User awareness raising techniques (e.g. conferences, e-learning, demos, serious games).

Design and implementation of protection measures:

  • Critical Security Controls and their implementation;
  • Creating and maintaining security configuration guidelines;
  • Operating systems and good practices for their configuration and protection;
  • Endpoint security systems, vulnerability assessment, data encryption, hardening practices, data protection;
  • Network concepts and the associated security architectures and components. In particular: Internet/Intranet/Extranet architectures, authentication systems, Firewall, Proxies, Network IDS/IPS, PKI, e-mail security, Remote access control and violations;
  • Identity and Access management;
  • Application security, in particular: (web) application firewalls, secure coding practices;
  • Data protection and integrity: encryption, data loss prevention mechanisms;
  • PKI architectures and digital signature expertise.

This profile will perform the following tasks:

  • Contribute to Security Management activities:
    • Contribute to building the strategic view for the future of ICT security at the customer;
    • Draft ICT Security policies, standards, guidelines;
    • Perform market reviews, products analyses, studies;
    • Lead security-related solutions assessments and labs;
    • Lead and manage Security-related projects;
    • Contribute to the communication of the available policies.
  • Define and deliver user awareness programs;
    • Elaborate presentations, messages targeted to the end-users;
    • Elaborate demos, videos for illustration;
    • Provide support to Communication and Training Departments for building various material (e.g. posters, flyers, e-learning);
    • Lead lectures, conferences, demos, workshops.
  • Support project and application owners in designing, implementing and maintaining ICT Security:
    • Perform Risk analysis according to state-of-the-art methodologies and practices (including standards such as EBIOS, ISO 27005);
    • Elaborate ICT Security requirements for in-house and outsourced projects and applications;
    • Define and review architectures for security systems;
    • Design and implement Security settings on various kinds of IT components;
    • Coordinate ICT Security activities in the projects, provide support to project managers;
    • Supervise Security testing/assessment throughout the projects;
    • Provide support for remediating Security vulnerabilities or issues;
    • Assess security aspects of products and solutions.

Qualifications

If you have

  • At least six years of professional relevant experience, including:
  • three years’ experience related to ICT security management (e.g. ISMS implementation, policy management, development of security policies and standards); and
  • two years’ experience as a team leader or project leader for major security-related projects.
  • A master's or bachelor's degree in the ICT field and at least one ICT Security professional certification is also required.
  • Very good knowledge of both written and oral English (proficient user - C level, according to the Europass Language Passport classification) is mandatory. Good command of French is an asset.

The following additional administrative, technical and management competencies are required for this profile:

  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to work with a minimum supervision and be committed to excellence and quality service delivery;
  • Ability to generate reports and written analysis on complex and multi-domain security topics, both at high and technical levels;
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to lead multi-lingual meetings and to do presentations to managers, technical staff and also end-users in the context of user awareness activities;
  • Leadership, autonomy and commitment to increasing maturity;
  • Excellent team player and ability to coordinate other experts' work.
