GCP Security Engineer
This opportunity is within dentsu's integrated global capability that delivers world-class, agile services across the dentsu network - Dentsu Creative, Dentsu Media and Merkle. In this role, you will be part of Merkle, enabling delivery of innovative data and technology solutions for Merkle's global brands.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing security measures: The engineer is responsible for designing and implementing security measures that protect the GCP environment from potential threats. This involves identifying vulnerabilities and creating strategies to mitigate them.
- Managing access controls: The engineer must ensure that only authorized personnel have access to the GCP environment. This includes implementing identity and access management (IAM) policies, setting up role-based access controls (RBAC), and managing user accounts.
- Monitoring security incidents: The engineer must constantly monitor the GCP environment for security incidents, such as unauthorized access attempts or data breaches. They must also create and maintain incident response plans to mitigate any potential incidents.
- Conducting security assessments: The engineer must conduct regular security assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Providing security guidance: The engineer must provide security guidance to other members of the GCP team, including developers, system administrators, and operations personnel.
- Managing security compliance: The engineer must ensure that the GCP environment is compliant with relevant security standards, such as SOC 2 or HIPAA.
- Staying up-to-date with security trends: The engineer must stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, tools, and technologies to ensure that the GCP environment is always protected against potential threats.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- Experience working with GCP or other cloud platforms.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices and standards.
- Experience with security tools such as intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners.
- Ability to conduct security assessments and provide guidance to other team members.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Relevant certifications such as Google Cloud Security Engineer or CISSP are preferred.
