Job Description

The Cyber Security team provides governance, audit, control, and operational Cyber Security capabilities to support business and operational objectives of the Nine group. Minimizing friction and managing appropriate risk are key tenets of the team. The Security team works closely with the Security Cloud Practice, Product Engineering, Network and Infrastructure and Services teams to collaboratively manage cyber controls.

This is an expansion of the Cyber Security Engineering function, focused on configuring, maintaining, and continuously improving cyber security tools such as Cloud Access Security Broker, Zero Trust Network Access, Secure Web Gateway, Endpoint Privilege, and Endpoint Management. This will include reviewing and improving monitoring and access controls for other critical SaaS services such as Google Workspace, Slack, JIRA, Confluence.

You will work alongside other members of the Cyber Security Engineering team who are responsible for researching, architecting and implementing Cyber Security capabilities for the Nine group.

This is a mid level role, ideal for someone who has some exposure to cyber security tools and are looking to focus their career path in Cyber Security. Our new team member will be part of a culture which encourages open and collaborative communication and continuous learning.

This is a new but key role for Nine working in a diverse and complex technology landscape. You will be working closely not only with other IT teams but also key business stakeholders to ensure our staff and data remains safe through managing risk to an appropriate level.

Key accountabilities for this role:

  • Embedding the standards and practices supporting Cyber Security
  • Being the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for key cyber security tools
  • Uplift and mentor other support teams for L1 support of cyber security tools
  • Responding to system and/or network security breaches as required.
  • Ensuring that the organisation's data and infrastructure are protected through appropriate security controls with alignment to Nine’s cyber risk management framework.
  • Using appropriate ITIL tools including incident and change.
  • Consultative and technical guidance on vulnerability and patch management.
  • Champion and drive change in other tech teams. Strong collaboration skills required
  • Participation in on-call duties if required

Qualifications

What we would like to see on your resume: 

ESSENTIAL

  • Solid track record of experience in IT
  • Exposure to supporting Cyber Security tools
  • Solid understanding of ITIL Processes
  • Exposure to network/cyber security and incident handling procedures.
  • Understanding of current Cyber Security technology trends
  • Problem solving and analysis skills, with a high attention to detail
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Strong communications skills – both verbal and written, being able to share knowledge and educate others
  • Basic coding and scripting knowledge and familiarity with Operating Systems (Unix, Linux, Windows).

DESIRABLE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Cyber Security, Information Security, Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant field; or 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with Active Directory. Configuration, management, security and hardening
  • Cybersecurity certifications
  • SME knowledge of advanced cybersecurity tools
