Job Description

The Governance, Risk and Compliance team plays a critical role in strengthening our protection, detection, and response capabilities. Reporting to the CISO, you will lead a team responsible for risk and control assessment and testing, training and awareness, metrics and reporting, policy management, and delivery and execution of Experian’s cybersecurity strategy. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive security program and will develop Experian’s global security communication and education strategy to drive awareness and understanding throughout the company. You will oversee the development and implementation of cybersecurity trainings and programs related to governance to help drive a sustainable and effective control environment. This role will also lead a team of project managers and will drive the execution and delivery of the strategic initiatives of the Global Security Office for Experian. 

What you will be doing:

  • Create and execute Experian’s global cyber-security communications strategy in partnership with other communications teams. Use strong writing skills, presentation skills, audience segmentation, to craft communications on behalf of the Security leadership team both internal to the security team and external to cross-functional partners.
  • Build, maintain and execute a governance program to ensure that Experian and the Global Security Office (GSO) operate at the highest level of compliance with firm policies, standards and guidelines as well as government regulations and industry best practices.
  • Partner on steering committees and lead governance meetings with C-suite executives, directing overall cyber security and risk posture for the organization.   
  • Work closely with the CISO in the creation and implementation of the security organisation’s strategic vision.
  • Act as a proxy for the CISO as needed to facilitate resolutions and progress towards goals
  • Guide and mentor project managers on projects that are key to functional and strategic success
  • Ensure information security efforts system-wide are properly coordinated and in compliance with reducing the overall security risk. Oversee the development of risk management and measurement solutions for control assurance.
  • Act as a principal aide to the CISO to coordinate activities in support of information security governance requirements.
  • Prepare detailed operating and financial reports in support of functional and strategic issues
  • Facilitate prioritization of initiatives across Global Security Office teams and search out creative solutions to problems
  • Continuously evaluate metrics and KPIs related to information security and incidents to ensure alignment with industry guidance

Qualifications

  • Navigate complex environments to drive results. You collaborate with members across different teams, balancing sometimes conflicting priorities. You excel at bringing the right people to the table, tackling issues, and identifying opportunities. You are a negotiator who can navigate the strong opinions of others, discern what is most important, and confidently facilitate collaborative solutions.
  • You understand the business by seeing information security through their perspective, speaking their language, and articulating the voice of our stakeholders to improve Experian’s security solutions
  • You have strong executive presence and have experience preparing Board materials and presenting to C-suite leaders.
  • You prioritize accountability and honesty, building trust with your team, teammates, and stakeholders by consistently delivering results

What your background looks like:

  • 15 years of progressive technical and information security leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • 10 years of related experience leading and motivating cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.
  • Excellent communicator - superb verbal and written communications skills. Experience writing and communicating with executives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex strategic and operational initiatives
  • Experience driving complex projects and excellent collaboration skills across multiple global teams
  • Ability to excel in a fast paced, highly matrixed business environment
  • Excellent presentation skills, especially with senior executive audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science or related field. MS or MBA is an advantage
